What's your favorite way to enjoy OUTLANDER?

This month's poll asks, "What's your favorite way to enjoy OUTLANDER?"

What do you prefer? Hardcover, paperback, e-book, audiobook, or watching the TV show? Or some combination of all of those?

I'm a longtime OUTLANDER-audiobook-addict myself (since 2007), and that is my preferred method most of the time. For new releases, I collect the hardcovers, but I prefer to read the e-books on my tablet. (The photo above shows part of my OUTLANDER collection.)

What about the rest of you? Please take a moment to vote, and then come back and leave a comment here or on my Outlandish Observations Facebook page.

  1. I love that you’re an audiobook lover - me too! I first read bk 1-7 in paperback then MOBY in hardcover when it was published. Holding a real book and reading will always be first time. Then discovered audiobooks! I listened to all 8, plus LJGs and extras, on audiobooks. Ill always read first, but find I have missed so many details that I hear on listening the second time. Regarding the show, it’s interwoven into all my reading and listening - depending on my mood. Over these last 5 yrs, Ive rewatched my favorite episodes many many times, but I’ve also done the same for my favorite sections on audiobooks and in the books. So Im a hybrid! Who leans audiobooks and show.
  2. Reading is my favorite, but I don't read from the hardcovers (except for the first time, of course). They're for keeping in pristine condition on my shelf! :)
  3. Hi Karen when reading the books I use the paperbacks they are lighter and easy to carry around when I want to take the book on vacation. I also like the audio cds of the books , sometimes I can't read the whole book , so the audio cds helps plus you can listen to them any where like in the car or just walking around , please post more soon . Happy Weekend . sincerely .Loving Outlander.
  4. Reading has always been one of my favorite pastimes but had to give it up more than a decade ago due to being legally blind. I started reading again a few years ago when my doctor recommended that I buy a Kindle and that the first books I should read were the Outlander series so it was my doctor who is also a DG fan who first introduced me to Outlander. Since that time I have read all 8 books more than once and I find that every time I reread one of the books, I discover some different information that I must have missed the first time I read the book. I am really looking forward to reading Diana's next book. While I like the tv show, there is nothing like reading a good book; so much of the book is left out of the show. Happy Reading!!
  5. I first "listened" to the early books on CD! Then got them through Audible. When I read them in print/kindle format, it was a completely different experience. If I had tried the print version first, I would have completely skipped over the gaelic, so I'm really glad I listened first. ... I now have the complete series in Audible, kindle & paperback versions (paperback in preparation for any upcoming apocalypse!) and re-listen every couple of years. All are different experiences & I treasure them all.
  6. I have not tried audio books but love the books. I too have watched the series over and over (and so on) many times. I love reading but I am a very slow readerror so thanks guys as I'm now going to try audio books.
